Elite Sports Analysis – Launch of Focus X2

Founded in 1996, Elite Sports Analysis has established itself as the world leader in the field of Performance Analysis in sport. O’Leary RM was retained to help the company launch its new software product, Focus X2.

Creative Planning

Focus X2 analysis product can be used for all sports, however as the launch was to take place in June, O’Leary RM recommended that to capitalise on the interest in golf around the US Open, we should use golf to showcase the benefits of the product.

Creative Execution

O’Leary RM hired a golf course for the day and invited sports journalists from broadcast media, the Scottish dailies and leading regional titles.

A short presentation on the product was followed by a round of golf during which the journalists were filmed and their shots, analysed.

Following the game and over a drink, Elite Sports Analysis then gave a short presentation on how the software product captured the various elements of the technical sport and allowed the user to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses.

O’Leary RM also invited a golf professional to comment on the value of the software at the presentation to provide additional endorsement.

Journalists were then provided with a CD of their game with individual analysis to take away.

The consultancy also identified that the day would also be a good opportunity to influence potential clients and invited representatives from The Scottish Institute of Sport and Olympic coaches.

Measurment

O’Leary RM was successful in attracting representatives from all the major broadcast and print media. Extensive coverage was generated on BBC Sports Scene, Forth FM, Evening News, Scotland on Sunday, Dunfermline Press, Perthshire Advertiser, The Sunday Herald, The Daily Record and News of the World.
